FAQ

  • Why Choose a Montessori Preschool?

Choosing a Montessori preschool gives your child the opportunity to develop independence, focus, and a lifelong love of learning in a nurturing, hands-on environment. With a child-centered approach, Montessori supports the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—during the most formative years of development.

  • Why Choose De La Fontaine?

De La Fontaine Montessori School offers a warm, family-like environment where children are nurtured to grow into confident, independent learners through a blend of Montessori principles, language immersion, and Reggio-inspired creativity. Our program fosters a deep love of learning, cultural awareness, and self-expression—laying a strong foundation for your child’s lifelong success.

  • Is a Montessori Preschool More Expensive?

Montessori preschool can be more expensive than traditional preschool programs, but that’s because it offers a specialized, high-quality approach tailored to each child’s individual development. With Montessori educators, thoughtfully prepared environments, and a focus on independence, critical thinking, and emotional growth, families are investing in an educational foundation that goes far beyond basic care and prepares children for lifelong success. In many cases, based on family needs, we are able to provide access to resources for scholarship or subsidy to lessen the impact of tuition and fees.

  • Do you practice any specific religions?

At De La Fontaine Montessori School, we celebrate and honor all religions, cultures, identities, and walks of life. Our inclusive environment is rooted in respect, curiosity, and global awareness—welcoming diverse perspectives without promoting any one belief system or way of thinking.

  • Is De La Fontaine a year round program?

De La Fontaine Montessori School operates as a year-round program, providing consistency and support for families throughout the year. We follow a traditional academic calendar, with our school year beginning in August and culminating in May, after which students are invited to join our enriching summer program, Camp Woodland, for continued learning and exploration in a fun, nature-inspired setting.

  • What advantages does a multilingual immersion school offer?

In a multilingual immersive Montessori setting, early learners gain cognitive flexibility, enhanced problem-solving skills, and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity. The immersion in multiple languages not only strengthens their communication abilities but also supports their social and emotional growth by fostering empathy, adaptability, and a broader worldview from a young age.

  • Does De La Fontaine accept students with special needs?

De La Fontaine Montessori School warmly welcomes students from all backgrounds, including those with special needs, and strives to create an inclusive, supportive environment for every child. In certain cases, we may request that students with specific needs be accompanied by outside support, and if we identify any child requiring additional assistance, we are committed to referring them to appropriate community services to ensure their success and well-being.

  • Does De La Fontaine offer school beyond primary level?

Unfortunately, not at this time. We are always evaluating ways we can continue to grow our reach, and there is a possibility for an expansion into the lower and upper elementary schooling levels in the future!
